Description
This is a KAZ 59 Austrian “Pea Dot” Fishtail Parka. Pea Dot, officially known as Kampfanzug 1959 pattern (KAZ 59 for short). Kampfanzug 1959 was a revised version of the original Kampfanzug 1957 pattern. The pattern underwent some small changes in 1959 and was redesignated Kampfanzug 1959 but ultimately went on to be used by the Austrians until the 1970s. These changes include overall pattern orientation and density changes of the “pea dots”. The Austrians produced several different versions of their fishtail parka in both KAZ 57 and 59, some of these differences include button types or pocket layouts. The KAZ 59 Fish Tail Parka we have available features button closures, chest pockets, waist pockets, inner pockets, pass through pockets, waist cinch, lower parka cinch, hood with cinch, reinforced elbows, elastic sleeve cuffs and pit vents for ventilation. Overall, this is awesome collectable jacket to add to any Euro/ Austrian surplus collection.
The overall condition is very good for this 60/70s era Parka. The only real flaw is one missing button from the parka closure. Beyond the one missing button this parka is free of any rips/ tears, stains or fading
