British Camouflage Windproof Smock

Description

These are British Camouflage Windproof Smocks. These smocks were introduced in 1943 and began seeing more widespread usage by 1944 and 1945. While the Denison Smocks that were issued to British troops during the Africa Campaign of WWII were well loved by troops, they were often heavily modified to perform better. Hand painted camo, zipper mods and pocket changes were all very commonplace and these later war windproof smocks combine all those features right out of the box. The Smocks are constructed from 100% cotton with a screen printed camouflage pattern. They feature a zipper closure, chest pockets, waist pockets, hood with cinch, lower jacket cinch and button sleeve cuffs. Overall, these British Camouflage Windproof Smocks

The example we have available for sale is a later post WWII example from A. Raven & CO LTD and appears to be dated 1951. It’s seen some milage for sure, but the smock was obviously loved enough by its previous owner(s) to be repaired as it got damaged. The camouflage print is in good overall condition and any holes or tears have been repaired. All drawstrings and buttons are present and the zipper functions as intended. While there is some staining it’s minimal for a smock this old. Item is tagged Size 4 (see below for measurements).
