Description
The RRV is about as good as it gets to a standalone platform to rig up a kit on. With a ton of MOLLE webbing and adjustable straps where you need them the RRV wears nice and carries everything you need. The shoulders are padded and can be worn in an “H” fashion (straight) or ‘X” (crossed. The front panel has a hidden pocket for flat or small items and the bib has interior pocket as well. The bid can be folded down too, making the RRV into a fancy TAP. The RRV can accept a front ballistic plate of the 10×13 type that is secured by a pocket slot and adjustable strap. These are great for any level of use and fit over body armor. Whether you’re just getting started with tactical gear or have been into for a while these are a go to for a solid kit base.

No, the USMC TAPS will not pair with a Eagle Industries Rhodesian Recon Vest.

Its not Rhodesian from that era. Its the name of the style that Eagle Industries, they decided to name them “Rhodesian Recon Vests” but you are absolutely correct, these were not put out until the early 2000’s. To be clear, this is not Rhodie gear.
What size plate does it hold? - A
So I believe there was a specific plate made for the RRV's. That said, I have been able to put a USGI medium front plate in it without issue, it fit pretty solid and tight. I think those are considered 10" x 12.5" in size.

Awesome piece of kit. Be sure to get the H back strap connector, they sell it separately, its only a few bucks extra. Otherwise the back straps cross up which might work for some people. But it rides a whole lot better with it. They should mention this in the description. Hint Hint Venture surplus. Anyway. Dont hesitate if you’re considering this chest rig the quality is the best and your getting it at a great price

At first, I thought you guys f__cked up and sent me a NEW vest , (ordered a used one,… cheap f__ck that I am) BUT upon further inspection, I could tell by the tag sewn in that it wasn’t new. The thing was in awesome shape! very pleased with it. What’s more is the straps were adjusted perfect after I dropped my plate in!????!!!!!!!!!!! Going to drop a bunch on some lottery tickets today!
