The shelter also has a rain-fly. You can use this shelter on the ground or mounted to a cot. This shelter does not include a waterproof ground cloth.

I love this tent so far, it is a bit on the heavy side to use for ultralight backpacking but can be made lighter by getting the litefighter groundsheet (not included) and using the Hasty Hooch setup. I cant say how rain proof it is as I have not had it in a rain, but the seems were taped.
The tent is pretty narrow, but the rain fly makes a vestibule that you can keep your gear in. I am 6 foot 2 and was able to stretch out fully inside.
