Description

Blue TQs are FOR TRAINING USE ONLY!!!! NOT FOR REAL LIFE USE!!!!!

Finally getting rid of the old stick and bandage TQ from the old days? The NAR Gen 7 Combat Application Tourniquet is one of the most widely used TQs across the world. Probably, theres at least one or two on the kit of every US Military member so that adds up to a lot at least. It’s actually the official tourniquet of the US Army, so there’s that too. The Gen 7 CAT is made for easy one handed use and is for controlling massive bleeding on extremities. The pressure strap is wide enough to not damage injured areas used on, but still slim and thin enough to get around and over wherever you’re placing it. Grab one, then grab another for the worst case that we hope never happens.

Looking for something meant just for training as you learn to use the CAT Tourniquet? Try the BLUE tourniquets, they are meant specifically for training, however, please don’t try to use them to save a life.

Blue TQs are FOR TRAINING USE ONLY!!!! NOT FOR REAL LIFE USE!!!!!

Features:

  • For Treating Massive Bleeding On Extremities – Used to treat life threatening bleeding on extremities ONLY. Not for small or superficial wounds.
  • Tourniquet Retention Assist – Clips or bands for securing the TQ windlass when desired pressure has been reached.
  • 1.5 Inch Tourniquet Strap – Main strap of TQ is 1.5″ wide.
  • TQ Hook and Loop Strap Retention – Tourniquet strap is secured by being woven through a simple webbing buckle and the strap secures to itself with hook and loop.
  • TQ One Handed Use – Tourniquet is optimized to be used with only one hand.
  • Plastic Tourniquet Windlass – Windlass for tightening TQ is plastic for ruggedness and weight reduction.
  • Blue TQ’s Are For Training ONLY – The Blue Colored Gen 7 CAT Tourniquets are for Training Use Only. Not for Real Life Life Saving. These are sold by NAR for the sole purpose of training and are intended for realistic training with the same style TQ as the CAT. Not Intended for Life Saving!

They are real Gen 7 CATs as far as I can tell and are a few dollars cheaper than everywhere else. Made myself an IFAK using these.

Q How/ why are these "defective"? answer now

    A

The defective condition tourniquets haven’t been used but do not have their original packaging and looks like they’ve been shuffled around in storage. We are unsure that they are of the quality to save a life because we don’t know what kind of environment they’ve been in, but we do know they are good enough for training. I definitely don’t recommend these as part of a first aid kit, just for training on how to use a tourniquet.
