Description
This is the current issue garrison uniform top worn in the US Army. It is an updated version of the ACU style uniform. There are hook and loop flapped chest pockets and the top closes up with a two way zipper. On the chest of the top are locations for hook and loop patches. Used may include sewn on patches, with the loop fields removed, and Defect may have the fields removed completely. The shoulder pockets have been changed to a single piece, no longer with a hook and loop flap, with a side access zipper. There are hook and loop fields on each shoulder pocket for patches. On each shoulder are hideaway IR tabs. The collar no longer has the hook and loop tab for keeping it upright and now lays flat, but is generally stiff enough to be still folded up if needed. Cuffs are adjustable with buttons. When new the tops come treated with Permethrin, a insect repellent, that fades in effectiveness with washes. These are a good general purpose outdoor top, when not being worn as a uniform top.
These are the current issue coats in the US Army and are made of a 50% Nylon 50% Cotton Ripstop material.
DEFECT condition coats are missing fields for name and rank patches!
Features:
- Chest Pockets – Has pockets on the front of the chest.
- Zippered Shoulder Pockets – Pockets on shoulders for storing small items with zippered closure.
- Exterior Hook and Loop Fields – There is hook and loop on the outside of the pouch for attaching ID and other patches.
- Adjustable Sleeve Cuffs – Sleeves have either a button or hook and loop adjustable cuff for fit and wear.
- Zip Up Shirt – This shirt is a zip up, which means that the front is closed with a zipper.
- Scorpion Camouflage, OCP – When Multicam was adopted as the replacement for UCP during deployment operations it was also considered for Army wide adoption for uniforms and gear. Licensing fees for the Multicam pattern were deemed to high and the US Army took to the predecessor, Scorpion OCP. Scorpion OCP had been developed alongside Multicam and shares most of the same design. Side by side Multicam and Scorpion look much the same, with differences being subtle. The base color of Scorpion is green, compared to brown in Multicam and the shading of all colors was changed slightly. Scorpion also has no vertical elements in the camo. Scorpion is currently referred to as OCP, or Operational Camouflage Pattern and is used for US Army Uniforms and most Army gear.

Bought 2 of these “defective” tops. 1 looks like a soldier wore it for 2 hours and the other has sewn on name tapes but perfectly usable once they are replaced.

The used one I got still has a ton of life in it. Some nice fade, and just broken in. Can’t go wrong with this one.
