R&B Boonie Hat, Desert Tiger Stripe

Description

These are Desert Tiger Stripe Boonie Hats made by R&B. The boonie hat has a floppy brim that goes all the way around. This kind of brim is great for keeping the sun of the wearers neck and ears when out in the open. The brim measures about 2.5. inches in depth. It is also nice for when it’s raining by helping keep it off the ears and neck more so than a regular hat. There are wire mesh vents in the top to help keep the wears head cool. Unlike most boonies, these ones do not have the loose webbing loops around the outer circumference. This is common on boonies worn in arid areas where there isn’t much vegetation to camo up with in the first place. There is a simple draw string for securing the cap to the wearers head.

These hats do not stretch at all so you will need exact or very close sizing. These hats are made by and are directly from R&B, a long time government contractor and manufacturer of USGI Headwear.

Features:

• Hat Drawstring – This hat has an adjustable drawstring that can be secured under the wearers chin to prevent movement from the hat and to keep the hat from being blown off by the wind.
• Mesh Vent Holes – There are mesh vent holes to help with air flow and drainage of water.
• Desert Tiger Stripe – Desert Tiger Stripe is the arid version of the infamous Vietnam Tiger Stripe. The pattern was developed in 1991 around the time of the First Gulf War. Its alleged that the US Marine Corps tested the pattern in the early 90s but there is unfortunately no information to support this claim. Desert Tiger Stripe has primarily been seen in use by the CIA and other “spook” agencies in the middle east throughout the GWOT.
