R&B USMC EGA Boonie Cap, Woodland MARPAT

Description

This is a USMC Woodland MARPAT boonie hat with the USMC Eagle, Globe & Anchor made by R&B. The boonie hat has a floppy brim that goes all the way around. This kind of brim is great for keeping the sun of the wearers neck and ears when out in the open. The brim measures about 2.5. inches in depth. It is also nice for when it’s raining by helping keep it off the ears and neck more so than a regular hat. There are wire mesh vents in the top to help keep the wears head cool. Around the cap is loose webbing loops that can be used for attaching small items to the hat, typically used to attach local vegetation for increased camo. Additionally, these USMC Woodland MARPAT boonies feature a microfleece sweat band and embroidered EGA, just like their issued counterpart. There is a simple draw string for securing the cap to the wearers head.

These hats do not stretch at all so you will need exact or very close sizing. These hats are made by and directly from R&B, a long time government contractor and manufacturer of USGI Headwear.

Features:

• Hat Drawstring – This hat has an adjustable drawstring that can be secured under the wearers chin to prevent movement from the hat and to keep the hat from being blown off by the wind.
• Mesh Vent Holes – There are mesh vent holes to help with air flow and drainage of water.
• Loose Webbing Loops – There are loose webbing loops for attaching items to the gear or clothing. Typically used to attach local vegetation for added camo.
• EGA Symbol – Has the USMC Eagle, Globe & Anchor symbol either sewn, embroidered or stamped on.
• MARPAT Camouflage – After seeing the effectiveness of the new digital Canadian camo the US Marine Corps set about to create its own. In 2001 the USMC would develop and adopt the MARPAT family of camo patterns. Marine Pattern would have a woodland, desert and winter variation, with miniature USMC EGA symbols “stamped” into the pattern. While the USMC claims the pattern is based off its own research and development the pattern, minus coloration, is extremely similar to the Canadian CADPAT camo that was the inspiration for adopting a digital camo in the first place. With the adoption of MARPAT the USMC would also introduce the MCCU Uniform, replacing the BDU completely. Aside from certain pieces of individual equipment, in service MARPAT is used mainly on combat uniforms and accessories.
