SAM XT Extremity Tourniquet

Description

This is a SAM XT Extremity Tourniquet. The TQ is designed for use in harsh conditions and the design is made so that less turns of the windlass are required to achieve needed pressure on limbs. The TQ has a durable metal windlass rod that is secured with a band and clip. On the band is a visible area for noting the time the TQ was applied. The band of the TQ has hook and loop for securing it and is made of nylon. Along the strap are holes that lock with the buckle of the TQ.

These are a great alternative to the CAT and SOF-T tourniquets, and are around the same size as a North American Rescue CAT.

TRUFLEX™ PLATE: Made of 100% nylon, the TRUFLEX™ Plate distributes forces as targeted circumferential pressure while providing additional support for the Metal Windlass Rod.
METAL WINDLASS ROD & TIME BAND: The Metal Windlass Rod is machined of lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum giving it reliable strength and durability. The weather-resistant, night vision-optimized Time Band allows for secure usage in any environment.
PRECISION STRAP: Velcro-dependent tourniquets can fail when wet or dirty. SAM XT solves this problem with the all-weather Precision Strap, made of single-layer nylon webbing and featuring intervaled holes that lock with the TRUFORCE™ Buckle to create a consistent, efficient primary security system. The secondary hook and loop system secures the remaining strap, adding stability and safety.
SAM® Extremity Tourniquet (SAM-XT) is a TCCC recommended limb tourniquet (non-pneumatic).
