Description
This is the current issue combat top for the US Army. The tops are flame resistant and made for wear under body armor. The sleeves and shoulders are made OCP camo and stretchy, while the main body is a breathable stretch material. At the shoulders there are zippered pockets and fields for ID patches. You’ll find reinforcing material at the elbows that’ll make you think of a basketball that helps keep that area from wearing out and provides extra grip when shooting in the prone. Instead of the old turtle neck combat shirts these have a 14 zip collar, which is much nicer than the turtle neck. If you need a good combat shirt that’ll get the job done, these are it.
Materials
Torso: 55% cotton, 30% rayon, 8% spandex, 7% polyester
Front panel: 46% cotton, 46% rayon, 8% spandex
Sleeve & side panel: 93% cotton, 7% spandex
Features:
- Shirt 1/4 Zip closure – This shirt has a 1/4 zip closure which means that it is a pullover that has a zipper that goes about 1/4 of the way down the shirt.
- Flame Resistant – Will not catch fire when exposed to flames. It will burn but it will not drip or catch fire.
- Scorpion Camouflage, OCP – When Multicam was adopted as the replacement for UCP during deployment operations it was also considered for Army wide adoption for uniforms and gear. Licensing fees for the Multicam pattern were deemed to high and the US Army took to the predecessor, Scorpion OCP. Scorpion OCP had been developed alongside Multicam and shares most of the same design. Side by side Multicam and Scorpion look much the same, with differences being subtle. The base color of Scorpion is green, compared to brown in Multicam and the shading of all colors was changed slightly. Scorpion also has no vertical elements in the camo. Scorpion is currently referred to as OCP, or Operational Camouflage Pattern and is used for US Army Uniforms and most Army gear.
