Description
This is a Multicam combat top that was used in the US Army. These shirts are the same as the standard Multicam shirts, just made of a different overall material and were issued along side. Major difference is a slightly different feel, due to material, and the main shirt body is more jersey like. The top has a breathable body for wear under body armor to keep the wearer cool in hot weather. The sleeves had pockets on both shoulders that are secured shut with zippers. The Right shoulder has loop fields for rank, name and flag patches while the left has a loop field for unit patches. The sleeve cuffs are adjustable with hook and loop. The collar is 1/4 zip and no longer a like a turtle neck.
Features:
- Flame Resistant – Will not catch fire when exposed to flames. It will burn but it will not drip or catch fire.
- Shirt 1/4 Zip closure – This shirt has a 1/4 zip closure which means that it is a pullover that has a zipper that goes about 1/4 of the way down the shirt.
- Zippered Shoulder Pockets – Pockets on shoulders for storing small items with zippered closure.
- Adjustable Sleeve Cuffs – Sleeves have either a button or hook and loop adjustable cuff for fit and wear.
- Multicam – Originally design in the early 2000’s as a competitor to UCP, Multicam was passed over after the selection of UCP. Even with UCP being adopted the camo would still see widespread use by special operations forces across the US Military in Iraq and Afghanistan. As UCP was found to not be suitable and replacements were searched for Multicam was selected as the interim camo for use by deploying US Army Soldiers. The camo would not be issued in full scale within the US Military. With its selection for use in Afghanistan it was known as OEF Pattern. Garrison uniforms in Multicam were never made, with all Multicam uniforms issued in the US Army being fire resistant. Multicam was replaced by OCP, when it became the standard camo pattern for the US Army in 2015. Due to the similarity of Multicam and OCP the gear and equipment in those patterns, not uniforms, are commonly intermixed until widespread issue of OCP was completed.
