These are Tru-Spec Hot Weather Hats, more commonly known as the Boonie. The boonie has been a staple of hot weather wear since its inception in 1967 and is in our opinion the best hat in the military. These Tru-Spec Boonie hats feature a 100% cotton construction , 2.5 inch brim, loose webbing loops, ventilation holes, internal map pocket and an adjustable chin cord. These particular boonies come in the Desert Tiger Stripe pattern that was developed in the early 1990’s and has been seen in use by the CIA and other “spooky” agencies in the middle east throughout the GWOT. Don’t let the heat beat you down this summer add a boonie to your kit and look as cool as the hat makes you feel.

Features:

• 100% Cotton – Material is 100% Cotton.
• Vent Holes – There are vent holes, either grommeted or sewn, to help with airflow.
• Hat Drawstring – This hat has an adjustable drawstring that can be secured under the wearers chin to prevent movement from the hat and to keep the hat from being blown off by the wind.
• Loose Webbing Loops – There are loose webbing loops for attaching items to the gear or clothing. Typically used to attach local vegetation for added camo.
• Desert Tiger Stripe – Desert Tiger Stripe is the arid version of the infamous Vietnam Tiger Stripe. The pattern was developed in 1991 around the time of the First Gulf War. Its alleged that the US Marine Corps tested the pattern in the early 90s but there is unfortunately no information to support this claim. Desert Tiger Stripe has primarily been seen in use by the CIA and other “spook” agencies in the middle east throughout the GWOT.
