Audie Murphy, the most decorated soldier in US history, was a part of the 3rd Infantry Division during WWII. The actions taken by Audie Murphy during the Battle of the Bulge would secure him the Congressional Medal of Honor. Audie Murphy is credited with single handedly holding off a German counterattack at the Colmar Pocket in January of 1945.
