US Army 68th Armor Regiment Unit Crest Pin

These are 68th Armor Regiment Unit Crest Pins. These unit crest pins are authorized for wear on a Soldier’s dress uniform indicating their affiliation with that unit. The 68th Armor Regiment was originally constituted into the Army as the 68th Infantry Regiment in 1933. Over the next 50 years the unit would be redesignated several times. In November of 1942 they became the 68th Armor Regiment, in November of 1943 they became the 68th Tank Battalion, in August of 1952 they became the 68th Medium Tank Battalion and lastly in in August of 1957 they finally redesigned back to the 68th Armor Regiment. The 68th has participated in WWII, Korea and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 68th Armor Regiment is currently headquartered at Fort Carson in Colorado.
