US Army APECS Wet Weather Trousers, OCP

Description

These are US Army APECS wet weather pants in OCP. These pants are meant to be worn over other layers and are water and wind proof for cold and wet weather environments. The waist pockets are pass throughs to allow access to layers worn underneath, but the cargo pockets do function normally. There are zippers from the ankles to the knees to allow for easy donning and doffing while wearing boots. The waist has an adjustable drawstring, but also includes belt loops that are compatible with standard uniform or rigger’s belts. Overall these are a great pair of pants to keep you dry in the rain or snow.

Features:

• Pass Through Pocket Flaps – Open Flap pockets for reaching through and accessing layers worn underneath.
• Pant Cargo Pockets – Has large pockets for bulky items on the pants legs.
• Waist Drawstring – These pants have a drawstring that allows the wear to adjust the waist to the perfect size.
• 1/4 Length Pant Leg Zipper – Pants legs have a 1/4 length zipper from the bottom. This aides when donning and doffing the pants while wearing shoes.
• Waterproof – Waterproof means that it will not absorb water or be damaged when submerged in water.
• Windproof – It will help break the wind an hold warmth even in windy weather.
• APECS – All Purpose Environmental Clothing System. APECS is similar to the US Army ECWCS hard shell systems. They are lightweight and are less noisy then their ECWCS equivalent. APECS is primarily a USMC clothing system.
• Scorpion Camouflage, OCP – When Multicam was adopted as the replacement for UCP during deployment operations it was also considered for Army wide adoption for uniforms and gear. Licensing fees for the Multicam pattern were deemed to high and the US Army took to the predecessor, Scorpion OCP. Scorpion OCP had been developed alongside Multicam and shares most of the same design. Side by side Multicam and Scorpion look much the same, with differences being subtle. The base color of Scorpion is green, compared to brown in Multicam and the shading of all colors was changed slightly. Scorpion also has no vertical elements in the camo. Scorpion is currently referred to as OCP, or Operational Camouflage Pattern and is used for US Army Uniforms and most Army gear.
