These are US Army Gen 2 Modular Scalable Vest (MSV) Outer Carriers in OCP. These outer carriers are the base component of the US Army’s 2nd generation Modular Scalable Vest (MSV). Unlike the IOTV’s that were previously run by the Army, the MSV is a substantially more scalable vest allowing end users to more easily tailor the carrier towards different mission sets. The outer carrier is where everything comes together, it holds the hard armor plates, the inner vest and is where the soldier mounts his fighting load. The MSV Gen 2 Outer Carrier is constructed from laminate Cordura, a new age material known for its extreme durability and abrasion resistance. They feature laser cut MOLLE across the whole carrier, zippered plate bag access point, adjustable buckled cummerbund, quick release system, adjustable shoulder straps, loops slots for patches and a drag handle. • Adjustable Fitment – Includes adjustable straps to for proper fitment.
• Can Hold Ballistic Plates – Ballistic plates can be held within included plate pockets.
• Releasable Body Armor – Body armor has a release handle and cord for emergency doffing of armor. This is for situations when the body armor has to be taken off in a hurry, such as due to injury or when submerged in water. THIS IS NOT FOR REGULAR DONNING AND DOFFING. Body armor comes apart and must be completely put back together when release cable or handle is pulled.
• Laser Cut MOLLE Webbing – MOLLE webbing surfaces are laser cut. Laser cut webbing is lower profile and slims down the overall bulk of the pouch. When attaching MOLLE straps with button snaps, they can be slightly harder then normal to weave due to the slimmer nature of laser cut MOLLE.
• Quick Release Cummerbund – This cummerbund uses some form of quick release buckles allowing the user quick donning or doffing.
