Description

This is a US Airforce N-2B Heavy Flyers Jacket. The N-2B is the short waisted brother to the well known and loved N-3B. Both the N-2B and N-3B were designed/ adopted in the 1950s to keep both air and ground crews warm in winter to arctic conditions however the N-2B was favored by the aircrews more due to the slimmer fit and split hood that paired better with the rest of their worn equipment. The N-2B’s design takes after the short waisted MA-1 flight jacket but cranks the cold resistance up to 11 with its nylon shell, faux fur ruff and dense cotton/ wool blend insulation. The parkas feature a zipper/ button closure, pass through hand pockets, shoulder pocket, zippered split hood with cinch and elastic waist and sleeve cuffs.
