Description

These are USGI issue three magazine ALICE pouches. These pouches were used by the US military prior to the adoption of the MOLLE system. These pouches securely hold three USGI 30 round magazines side by side. The pouch is closed by a buckle that is easy to operate. The pouch also works great for small items that you need quickly accessible. This pouch can be attached to any ALICE compatible surface, MOLLE webbing and most slim belts.

These DO NOT have the divider straps inside for separating mags!

Magazines are NOT INCLUDED.

This pouch is essentially the last design iteration of the M1956 Universal Small Arms Ammo Pouch. The overall function and features of the pouch are upgraded from the M56 pattern pouch. The pouch is also less universal. The adoption of the M16/M4 family of rifles eliminated the need for troops to be equipped to carry multiple types of weapons and magazines.

Features:

  • Fits 3 USGI 5.56mm Magazines – Fits three (3) Standard Issue USGI Aluminum 5.56mm magazines.
  • Buckle Closure – This has a buckle closure to secure the contents inside.
  • ALICE Compatible – This item uses the ALICE, All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment, system. This system was used by the US Military starting in 1973 and was replaced with MOLLE gear. The system uses simple metal clips (slide, belt keepers) to mount pouches and accessories to webbing on gear and equipment.
  • Includes Two (2) ALICE Clips – This includes two (2) metal ALICE clips that allow the user to attached it to ALICE compatible gear.
  • Water Resistant – It can be exposed to water for a short period of time without being damaged or saturated with water. Generally not recommended to submerge Water Resistant items unless item is made for that level of exposure.
  • ALICE System – All Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment. The ALICE system was the replacement and upgrade to all load bearing systems in the US Military that came before it. The base of the system was the M1972 system, which after only a short period of time after introduction would be changed over the the ALICE system. Base components from the M1972 system would be kept and upgraded. The system, like its predecessors, included the baseline gear for an individual to sustain themselves in a combat area. Pouches and accessories were attached by slide, belt keepers aka ALICE clips. The system was introduced in 1973 and would be used up into the early 2000’s as standard issue. It would see continued use in training environments till around 2010 as well. The ALICE system would be replaced by MOLLE gear, and used along side it for a time as well.

Throughout the development of ALICE the designation LC-1 and LC-2 are used on a variety of gear. LC-1 equipment is gear from the initial M1972 system. Gear from that system that was carried over to ALICE would receive upgrades, improved components and materials, and be designated LC-2.

  1. Cole Dobner (verified owner)

I bought the used ones, they fit just fine on my pistol belated and they even look damn near new

  2. Shaun Kim (verified owner)

Outstanding price and quality! I bought two “defective” magazine pouches for $3.99 each and they work great! I feel that the “defective” is a severe overstatement of how worn these pouches are. There are some slight stains, but that’s nothing compared to a bit of soap and elbow grease. If you’re discouraged from the “defective” label, don’t be. Other surplus sites will charge you more than ten bucks for ONE mag pouch, which is egregious. I highly recommend these.
