These are USGI/DOD Adult Type V Personal Flotation Devices (PFD) manufactured by Coleman. These PFD’s are designed to keep you afloat in the off chance you find yourself overboard while out on the water. Type V PFD’s are to be worn for specific activities that will be described on the PFD’s label. To be effective, Type V PFDs must be used according to these specifications, and many must be worn at all times in order to qualify as a PFD. The PFD’s feature a polyvinyl chloride foam for buoyancy, nylon outer material, quick release chest strap and an adjustable lower strap with metal hook and ring attachment.
