US Army FREE EWOL Pants, Multicam

Description

This is a FREE EWOL pants that were used in the US Army and is typically worn by aircrew members and fuelers. The pants have a built in belt for easy wear over other layers and the legs have zippers for easy donning and doffing while wearing boots. The pants have ankle pockets and zippered waist pockets. There is also one back pocket. The pants are fleece lined for insulation and are a good cold weather protective layer.

Features:

• Waist Drawstring – These pants have a drawstring that allows the wear to adjust the waist to the perfect size.
• Zipper Closure – Has a zipper to secure contents stored inside.
• Pant Cargo Pockets – Has large pockets for bulky items on the pants legs.
• Pass Through Pocket Flaps – Open Flap pockets for reaching through and accessing layers worn underneath.
• Flame Resistant – Will not catch fire when exposed to flames. It will burn but it will not drip or catch fire.
• Multicam – Originally design in the early 2000’s as a competitor to UCP, Multicam was passed over after the selection of UCP. Even with UCP being adopted the camo would still see widespread use by special operations forces across the US Military in Iraq and Afghanistan. As UCP was found to not be suitable and replacements were searched for Multicam was selected as the interim camo for use by deploying US Army Soldiers. The camo would not be issued in full scale within the US Military. With its selection for use in Afghanistan it was known as OEF Pattern. Garrison uniforms in Multicam were never made, with all Multicam uniforms issued in the US Army being fire resistant. Multicam was replaced by OCP, when it became the standard camo pattern for the US Army in 2015. Due to the similarity of Multicam and OCP the gear and equipment in those patterns, not uniforms, are commonly intermixed until widespread issue of OCP was completed.
• FREE Clothing System – The Fire Resistant Environmental Ensemble. FREE is a system of fire resistant clothing and accessories for wear by combat vehicle crewman and aircrew members that generally follows the format of ECWCS as far as layering goes. All layers are fire resistant and focused towards the needs of the Soldiers wearing them. Generally FREE Clothing is a upgraded version of the standard issue equivalent, along with being fire resistant.
• EWOL – Extreme Weather Outer Layer, a component of the FREE system. EWOL layers are water and wind proof Gore Tex that is still fire resistant. EWOL layers are the outer most layers of the FREE system and meant for the worst weather conditions.
