USGI Gregory SPEAR UM21 Rucksack

Description

This is a Gregory Rucksack from the SPEAR UM21 / BALCS system used through the 90’s and 2000s by various SOF units. This pack was part of the same system as ELCS and is loaded with features. The ruck has tons of MOLLE real estate for mounting whatever pouches you need for organization, and even features pass-throughs on either side, great for carrying an axe or rifle. The pack also features loops for trekking poles or ice axes at the bottom on the sleeping bag compartment, which is quite large to accommodate sleeping bags for the worst of conditions. On the front face of the pack is a fold- down beavertail flap, which can be used as a seat. The beavertail attachment is great for carrying bulky, wet or irregularly shaped gear like helmets or shelter systems. The beavertail features MOLLE webbing, as does the lid. The lid zips open at the top and bottom, allowing easy access to items stored under the lid or even in the main compartment without needing to unbuckle it. The pack also has an adjustable frame, heavily padded adjustable waist belt and many compression straps to ensure optimal comfort and stability with heavy loads. Overall, These packs will take you anywhere you want to go, and carry everything you need with a weight rating of 120 pounds and a volume of 5,326 cubic inches, just under 90 Liters, between the main body, sleeping bag compartment and lid.
