These are USGI HMMWV Gunner Restraint System Harnesses. These harnesses are designed to keep the gunner in the HMMWV so they are not unceremoniously ejected from the turret upon the HMMWV hitting the first or subsequent bumps in the road. The harness consists of a nylon webbing strap apparatus, back pad, harness lock-up assembly as well as a hard point for tying into the vehicle. The harness is adjustable for size and the tie in hard point is also adjustable for height. Additionally, the harness is color coded for easy left/right side strap identification so you don’t end up putting the harness on wrong.
