Description
Lightweight Rucksack Frames are not ALICE frames and are not compatible with ALICE Packs.
These are 2nd Pattern Riveted Lightweight Rucksack Frames with Radio Frame Board. The 2nd Pattern Lightweight Rucksack frame was an update to the original 1st pattern Lightweight Rucksack Frame. The only real change between the 1st and 2nd pattern frames was the addition of a 2nd horizontal lashing strap location. Outside this one change the second pattern has identical features to the first. At the frame top we have mounting points for the upper shoulder straps and both vertical/horizontal cargo straps. Moving to the middle we have a steel loop for lashing your rifle, shovel or other large attached items and a horizontal center support that is used for supporting the compatible cargo shelf. Finally at the bottom we have the lower frame wings where the lower part of the shoulder straps are attached as well as the lower frame back pad. These particular 2nd Pattern Frames also include the Radio Frame Boards which allowed radio operators during Vietnam secure their manpack radio to the frame for easier carrying. So whether you’re a Vietnam reenactor, Vietnam surplus collector or have a loose AN/PRC-77 in need of a frame then add this to the collection today!
