This is a USGI M65 Field Jackets in OG-107. The M65 was first introduced around 1965 as a replacement for the M1951 Field Jacket that was adopted during the Korean War. The M65 was a staple of cold weather wear within the US Military at large until its replacement by the Extreme Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS). The M65 Field Jacket features a zipper jacket closure with snap button flap, adjustable sleeve cuffs, shoulder epaulets, a hood that stows away in the collar, chest pockets, waist pockets, lower and mid jacket cinches and is compatible with the M65 button in liner for additional warmth. The M65 Field Jacket has had such a cult following since its inception that commercial reproductions of the M65 are still made to this day. While these may have been phased out in favor of better cold weather gear the M65 still remains a favorite amongst collectors and those who wore them.
