Description
This is a PCU level 5 jacket. It’s pretty similar to the standard ECWCS lvl 5 gear, but just a little better because the people using it were specialer. the jacket is wind and water resistant and meant to be worn over one to two other thermal layers, so it’s a little oversized for layering. The sleeves have zippered pockets with loop panels for patches. The collar has a stow-able hood and the jacket zips up, there are zippered vents along the sleeves as well. Sleeve cuffs and waist are adjustable for best fit. This is a great outer layer jacket for cold days outside and when worn with thermal layers keeps the wearer warm all day.
These PCUs are a Patagonia design and manufactured by Patagonia or a Patagonia subcontractor.

A Reyes –
I didn’t get mine from here, but this is one of the most versatile jackets you’ll have. Cuts wind very well, sheds enough rain for anything outside of a constant downpour, and well thought out pockets with loops for dummy cord in the arm pockets. Pit zips and mesh pockets help a ton with heat management. Just don’t expect it to keep you warm alone, it’s not a thermal.
