These are USGI Type IV Radar Scattering Net Sets. These nets are used to camouflage positions, equipment, vehicles or any hardware you don’t want seen on a visual or radar spectrum. The nets are comprised of 2 layers, the leafy outer and the mesh inner. This combination disrupts distinguishable shapes making visual identification of items harder when observed. In addition to its visual concealment properties the nets offer radar concealment properties. This is achieved by a combination of signal attenuation and absorption, controlled scattering and signature masking that will disrupt and absorb radar signals tricking radar operators into thinking nothing may be there. The USGI Type IV Radar Scattering Net systems are comprised of 2 nets, a carry/ storage bag and a repair kit. Net 1 is hexagonal in shape and is approximately 30 x 30 feet. Net 2 is a rhombus shape that is approximately 25 x 15 feet. The kit as a whole weights 50lbs.
