Description
This is a set of All-Purpose Environmental Camouflage Pants that are used in the US Marine Corps. The pants are waterproof and are meant to be worn as an outer layer. The pants have a 1/4 length pant zipper for ease of putting on and taking off. Pockets of layers worn underneath can be accessed by pass through pocket flaps. There are cargo pockets for storing bulky items as well. The knees are reinforced so as to not wear through during heavy use. These are great wet weather pants for general wear and use.
Features:
- Gore-Tex – Made with Gore-Tex material, a lightweight wind and waterproof material that remains breathable.
- Waterproof – Waterproof means that it will not absorb water or be damaged when submerged in water.
- Waist Drawstring – These pants have a drawstring that allows the wear to adjust the waist to the perfect size.
- Pass Through Pocket Flaps – Open Flap pockets for reaching through and accessing layers worn underneath.
- Pant Cargo Pockets – Has large pockets for bulky items on the pants legs.
- MARPAT Camouflage – After seeing the effectiveness of the new digital Canadian camo the US Marine Corps set about to create its own. In 2001 the USMC would develop and adopt the MARPAT family of camo patterns. Marine Pattern would have a woodland, desert and winter variation, with miniature USMC EGA symbols “stamped” into the pattern. While the USMC claims the pattern is based off its own research and development the pattern, minus coloration, is extremely similar to the Canadian CADPAT camo that was the inspiration for adopting a digital camo in the first place. With the adoption of MARPAT the USMC would also introduce the MCCU Uniform, replacing the BDU completely. Aside from certain pieces of individual equipment, in service MARPAT is used mainly on combat uniforms and accessories.
- 1/4 Length Pant Leg Zipper – Pants legs have a 1/4 length zipper from the bottom. This aides when donning and doffing the pants while wearing shoes.
