These are USMC M1943 Camouflage Jungle Packs in the classic Frogskin pattern. Originally issued to Marines fighting through the Pacific during WWII, the M1943 Jungle Pack was designed as a lightweight, highly functional rucksack built to thrive in humid, unforgiving environments. These M1943 Jungle Packs are primarily constructed from heavy cotton duck canvas printed in the “greenside” Frogskin camo. It features a large top loading main compartment secured by a flap lid with adjustable web straps, zippered external lid compartment, web gear pouch attachment points, cinch straps, carry strap and canvas shoulder straps. While intended to be an integrated part of the Marines web gear these packs can also be worn stand alone if the shoulder straps are connected to the rear web belt hooks on the packs bottom.
