This is a Vintage US Navy Black with Red Insignia Dress uniform with Bullion Chief Petty Officer Electricians Mate Rank. This US Navy Black with Red Insignia Dress uniform would have been worn by a Chief Petty Officer who was an Electricians Mate who had 16 years of service in the Navy. The red insignia is usually present on a sailors uniform who has undergone disciplinary actions so its safe to say our CPO was a little salty during their time in US Navy service. This particular uniform would have likely been worn in the 1960s/ 1970’s, this is backed up due to the tailor who created the uniform (Esquire Naval Tailor out of Norfolk, VA) and the material content being a dracon and wool blend.
