This is a side plate carrier for the US Army's OTV, Outer Tactical Vest, that allows it to carry ESBI plates. Enhanced Side Ballistic Inserts are hard side plates that offer the same protection as SAPI plates, but on the sides of the vest. This side plate carrier can also be configured to hold up to size XS SAPI plates, but this is only recommended for larger users. In addition to the hard plates, soft armor can also be carried on the inner pocket of this carrier to protect a wider area from shrapnel or pistol calibers.

This listing only includes the pouch and will NOT include any soft or hard ballistic inserts, meaning it will NOT offer any ballistic protection. This pouch attaches to the OTV or other similar vests with webbing straps located on either side, and can be attached either on the left or right side of the carrier. MOLLE webbing on the outside allows for pouches and other items to be easily mounted. Overall this is a great accessory for the OTV that easily can add some protection.
