Description

This is a CVC headset used in the US Military. The headset is used as the liner for Combat Vehicle Crewman helmets and provides crew members with protection and communications. The headset has noise cancelling headphones built in with a microphone for communicating within the vehicle. The headset is only for compatible equipment and the headset is not compatible with most civilian radios.

The Bose combat vehicle crewman headset provides superior communication performance. Also, it provides hearing protection for crew members in tracked armored vehicles. This Army CVC headset is a second generation active noise reduction communication solution. US Army tests indicate a speech intelligibility score of 89%, as well as greater hearing protection (compared with the conventional DH-132 helmet, when used with a modern ICS like the VIC-3). Safe exposure time for crew members operating in high-noise environments is increased by a factor of 10.

Features:

  • Compatible With CVC Helmets – Fits Combat Vehicle Crewman Helmets.
  • For Compatible Radios Only – Equipment is compatible with Mil-Spec radios and comms equipment only. Typically uses a different multi pin connector different than civilian ones.
  • Noise Canceling Headset – Headset cancels out ambient and environmental noise for better communications and hearing.
  • Flexible Microphone – Has a microphone for communications that can be adjusted for best placement when in or out of use.

Manufactured by:

  • Various Government Contractors – This item is manufactured for the US government by various contractors.

It would most likely fit, but its not going to be a good secure fit :(

  2. Is this itself considered a helmet, or can it be worn under high cut helmets?

    A

This can be worn as a stand alone, but is typically worn with a CVC ballistic helmet over it. These headsets can also work with high cut helmets but will not work with regular MICH and ACH helmets.

  4. What are comm connectors? Will this work in standard General aviation planes?

Q What are comm connectors? Will this work in standard General aviation planes? answer now
Asked by Mr. Victor Connor on January 30, 2021 7:38 am
A Connector is an AP-107 or an AJ-107. You'll need an adapter to connect it to anything other than an armored vehicle 'quick disconnect' port.
  6. Is it considered new or used?

It would be "new old stock". New in the package but has been sitting around for a few years. Still guaranteed to be perfectly functional of course
