This is a M1949 Dutch Brodie helmet used by the Dutch Civil Defense. The Brodie helmet got its claim to fame for its prolific usage by the British during the first and second world wars. After the conclusion of the second world war the Dutch went on to adopt a copy of the British MKII Brodie helmet. The Dutch designated these as the M1949 which by all cases was an almost identical copy of its British MKII counterpart except for the suspension system and addition of a leather flap that covers the back of the neck. Overall, this helmet is in fantastic condition for its age and is perfect for those whole love post WWII collectables.
