This is a Storm Bag from StormTec USA as seen on Shark Tank. That’s right, our friends over at Swiss Link/StormTec got their product onto Shark Tank and for good reason! The Storm bag is a fresh water activated “sandbag” used for flood control, worksite protection, water absorption, landslide prevention and flood prevention. The Storm Bag is made up of 3 main components, the outer burlap bag, an inner bag and the absorbent/expansion material. Storm Bag’s have a short set up time of 3 to 5 minutes and will absorb roughly 4 gallons of water each in that time. Built with re-usability in mind, the Storm Bag will remain at its full size indefinitely while wet but will dehydrate and be reusable after 2 weeks of being stored in hot, dry conditions. Overall, this is a great product for those who live or work inside flood zones and need to keep the water out of desired areas.
Please note that when using Storm Bag to floodproof a home or business it is recommended that plastic sheeting and duct tape are used to initially seal the gaps in main doors, garage doors and windows before placing down the sandbags.
