Military Map Protractor, Square

Description

This is a Map Protractor that is used in the US Military, that features square cut outs for when measuring grid squares. Protractors feature 3 cut out windows for measuring on 1:25,000, 1:50,000 and 1:100,000 scale maps. The outer edge of the protractor has 2 scales for measuring mils (outer) and degrees (inner). Within the protractor is also a North & South compass for aiding in orienting your scale with your map. At a corner is also a GM Conversion Chart to aid in Declination. A big fancy word for finding and adjusting for the distance between Grid & Magnetic North. Along the center is a distance scale, that is scaled for use on 1:25,000 & 1:50,000 Scale Maps. Poked in the middle is a small hole that allows you to place a thin piece of cord, which helps when measuring directions with with protractor. This is a super handy tool to have in conjunction with your compass for mapwork, when GPS is not an option to use or you just want to check the space man with good ole analog work.
