Description
This is a USGI utility pouch. The pouch measures 9x3x5 and is great for storing bulkier items on you kit or bag. The pouch has a full length zipper. Also, you can mount this pouch to any MOLLE compatible surface.
The ABU pouches are a part of the USAF Defensor Fortis kit.

I got the used quality ABU colorway.
In my experience most of what Venture Surplus marks as used a less scrupulous store would pass off as new. This is not one of those cases. The pictures ARE indeed very accurate, the pouch is entirely tinted a kind of ruddy brown, hard to tell if it’s sun bleached or some soldier tried only semi successfully to dye it but it does look like the used picture.
However the coloration is the only real negative (if you look at it that way maybe you like muddy brown abu) I have to say about it. The fabric is insanely heavy duty as is the zipper. the 4 molle snaps on the back will make sure this thing can hold whatever you manage to stuff in there. Despite the stained color the pouch was clean in and out.
It’s going to serve my purposes well. I have an IFAK with a removable tray that lives on my belt (a t-rex arms med 1) when I go camping I like to take the IFAK with me to have some trauma supplies on hand and I wanted a pouch to put it in that’s not nearly $50 and also out of stock. Based on how the med 1 slides on to the belt removing the pouch wasn’t an option. Enter this pouch for $7. The size isn’t perfect but I can easily slip the IFAK and at TQ in there without much fuss. There are some more aesthetic and slightly smaller (and better sized) pouches even on Venture Surplus’ own site but they’re $20-30; this pouch will do the job at a fraction of the price. I may try and dye it myself to see If I can improve the look, I don’t really think I can make it much worse. But even as it stands I’m very satisfied with what I received for the investment I made.

Five stars for the all-around value of these pouches!
Tough trumps pretty. So many uses for tool or other kits.
For example, the pouches can transport two 18-volt DeWalt batteries or their recharging station to the worksite.
Beefy tabs on the YKK zipper make for easier access with gloved hands.
These are a bit stained and dirty, no extra charge.
