Description
The Scabbard is damaged and missing its lower metal tip protector.
This is a RFI Pattern 1907 Bayonet. This bayonet was produced by RFI, short for Rifle Factory Ishapore, in 1919. The RFI pattern 1907 bayonet is identical to its British produced counterpart, short of region where it was produced. These bayonets were designed to be used by the British/Indian built SMLE rifles. (Short Magazine Lee Enfield) This 105-year-old bayonet shows its age but is still in decent shape. The Scabbard is damaged and missing its lower metal tip protector. (see photos) The blade and handles condition are good however there is rusting on the guard and pommel. The stampings on the blade clean and readable.
