Description
These shirts are factory seconds meaning they did not meet the standards to be issued and used by the US Military. Some of the Issues these shirts may have include staining, small holes, stitching imperfections, and tears. Because these shirts did not meet contract standards, the tags have been cut to only show the size. These shirts are still completely usable and are the same level 2 shirts used in the military.
This is a level 2 waffle top that is used in the US Army. These top are easily layered with other parts of the ECWCS clothing and are great for cold weather. The grid fleece material helps keep the user warm while allowing airflow. When worn under outer layers the waffle is a great insulating layer, while still being lightweight and warm enough to be worn standalone in dry weather.

These are nice. Didn’t see anything that would make these to be considered factory seconds, nothing noticeable at least. A good base layer.

outstanding piece of gear. I wear mine as a outer layer and it keeps me very comfortable. As a matter of fact I’ve worn mine on a cruise to Alaska in April and again in September and it was perfect

By “coyote” in the product title what they actually mean is Tan 499. I have no idea whether the Marines have a version of this too, but this is the correct one for the Army uniform. Also I haven’t found the defect that made these factory seconds yet.
Jeff Radspinner –
You are correct, these are Tan 499, the army version of “coyote brown”. The color that the Marines use is Tan 498, their grid fleece thermals are a little bit different than the Army Issue.

Excellent base layer and perfect for fall by itself.
I had items come up missing when delivered and VS took care of the issue immediately. Very fair pricing overall for the times and new in stock product notifications are sent on a regular basis. Very good company.

Great job. I bought a few items. The Level II undershirts were in fantastic condition. They were clean. They were packaged really well. They were delivered quickly. And a retailer in 2025 that goes above what’s required to do an excellent job. Outstanding.
