Description
This is a pair of Flame Resistant ECWCS Soft shell pants that were used in the US Army, that are similar in function and appearance to the ECWCS Level 5 Trousers. They offer insulation from the cold, as well as wind, water and flame resistance. There are pockets on the waist and cargo pockets on the legs. Zippers from the ankles to the knees, and zippers at the waist allow these pants to be put on and taken off easily without removing boots or other layers. The belt loops are wide and reinforced for use with riggers belts or gun belts. These pants are textured similarly to some of the standard combat pants. Overall these are great pants for cold weather when you still need Flame Resistance.
Features:
- Multicam – Originally design in the early 2000’s as a competitor to UCP, Multicam was passed over after the selection of UCP. Even with UCP being adopted the camo would still see widespread use by special operations forces across the US Military in Iraq and Afghanistan. As UCP was found to not be suitable and replacements were searched for Multicam was selected as the interim camo for use by deploying US Army Soldiers. The camo would not be issued in full scale within the US Military. With its selection for use in Afghanistan it was known as OEF Pattern. Garrison uniforms in Multicam were never made, with all Multicam uniforms issued in the US Army being fire resistant. Multicam was replaced by OCP, when it became the standard camo pattern for the US Army in 2015. Due to the similarity of Multicam and OCP the gear and equipment in those patterns, not uniforms, are commonly intermixed until widespread issue of OCP was completed.
- Pant Cargo Pockets – Has large pockets for bulky items on the pants legs.
- 1/4 Length Pant Leg Zipper – Pants legs have a 1/4 length zipper from the bottom. This aides when donning and doffing the pants while wearing shoes.
- Flame Resistant – Will not catch fire when exposed to flames. It will burn but it will not drip or catch fire.
- Wind Resistant – This is wind resistant which means that it helps break the wind and keep the wearer warmer.
- Water Resistant – It can be exposed to water for a short period of time without being damaged or saturated with water. Generally not recommended to submerge Water Resistant items unless item is made for that level of exposure.
